Project: The First Parish Church was gathered in 1632 and worships in a large 1840 meetinghouse. It has an adult membership of 260 and church school enrollment of 160. Duxbury is a beautiful, low-density, affluent town of 14,000, 35 miles south of Boston. The church has an active program of worship, religious education, music, social activities and denominational and community involvement. The staff includes a full-time director of religious education.

Student Involvement: As the Ministerial Intern, the student will engage in many of the tasks of parish ministry. The specifics will be negotiated depending on the student's learning needs and the needs of the church.

Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Pastoral Care and Counseling. Religious Education and Spiritual Development.

Supervision: A weekly meeting with the supervisor and a monthly meeting with a lay Internship Committee.

Number of Students: 1

Total Stipend: $4,000.00

Type of Stipend: direct pay from site (sc 4000)

Notes: $500 in expenses; a car is necessary.
