7 Harrington Road Contact Person: Cindie Umans, Church Administrator Project: This placement is in a suburban church about 12 miles west of Cambridge. The congregation (about 350 members) covers a wide range of ages and interests, and provides an exciting community in which to develop a sense of ministerial vocation. Student Involvement: The student will be involved in a variety of ministerial experiences. S/he will plan and carry out at least two services, assist the minister in the pulpit, participate in parish calling, learn about and participate in religious education, attend staff meetings and take part in church committees and rites-of-passage ceremonies. The student is encouraged to share in the on-going life of the church by attending social events and getting to know other church organizations Arts of Ministry Competencies: Preaching and Worship. Pastoral Care and Counseling. Religious Education and Spiritual Development. Administration and Program Development. Denominational Polity. Supervision: The student will work with the parish minister on setting priorities for various activities. For weekly meetings between student and supervisor, the student will generally present a one page paper concerning a recent experience or reflection relevant to ministry. The student will also work with the Interim Director of Religious Education, Michelle Davis, in the area of religious education.
