Project:
First Parish UU Church of Chelmsford is an active church of about 200 members with average Sunday morning attendance by 80-90 adults and 45-55 children. We are diverse in age, theology and orientation with active participation by the congregation in all areas of church life and a growing population of young families. Chelmsford, a suburban town on the Merrimack, borders Lowell, an industrial city, yet still has orchards and a cranberry bog. Our members come from middle-class Chelmsford and increasingly from towns surrounding us from upper-middle-class Westford to multi-class Lowell so our economic diversity is increasing. By far the easiest way to get around is by automobile. Routes 3 and 495 intersect near Chelmsford center.
