Project:
We prefer to work with a half time intern over two church years.
The growth in development and range of experience is greater, it grounds the
student more fully in the seasons of congregational life and with the
congregants, and provides full-time (weekly) supervision over a longer
period of time.
The student will participate in accordance with his or her development needs
in the life of an active midsize church community. This would include
"hands-on" experience in preaching and worship construction, religious
education administration and teaching, oversight of and involvement with
pastoral care and counseling, youth and adult courses or programs, some
staff meetings, work with the lay leaders, and social action oversight and
participation
This church offers a multiple-staff experience and serves a wide range of
ages and family situations. The congregation of 300+ adults, 225 children
and 50 youth, is well-educated, moderately affluent, and known for its love
of sacred music, and its well-developed religious education and youth
programs, and its interest in spiritual development.
