Non-Harvard Housing
Most Divinity School students rent apartments from private landlords in Cambridge, Somerville, or
one of the surrounding Boston communities. Preliminary searching can be done online, but
students are strongly advised to see an apartment in person before making a commitment. We recommend that students begin apartment hunting in early summer for the following fall.
Advantages: The private market offers greater variety and flexibility, and
often will yield more affordable options than University-owned housing.
Harvard Housing Office
In addition to administering Harvard Real Estate Services (HRES) apartments,
the Harvard Housing Office maintains an online database with listings of hundreds of rental units offered by private landlords and real estate agents.
This database can be searched at no cost from any computer with Internet access.
Please see the
HRES Apartment Source
website.
The Harvard Housing Office also maintains listings of roommate and sublet
opportunities, located at the HRES Roommate
Center.
Those without access to the Web can request listing from the Harvard Housing Office
by email.
Anyone with questions is welcome to call, visit, or email the Housing Office:
