Fashioning the Sacred: Gender and Visual Culture in Caribbean Religion in Canada
Using the Spiritual Baptist Church as a case study, this project explores visual cultural production among immigrant Caribbean women in Canada in the post-Second World War era. The significance of ritual garment and ritual space design and production are explored as an integral component of these practitioners' religious identities and community formation in a transnational context.
