This project explores women's experience and re-creation of their Hindu identity in the context of the Indian diaspora. The aim of the project is to see if the interaction with western values reinforces separate gender spheres in which women are held responsible for the maintenance of religious and cultural values or, if conversely, it contributes to rapid liberalization with respect to Hindu women's participation.
