Obedient Brides: Masterless Women: Gender, the State, and Religious Change in Counterreformation Bavaria
The study focuses on the ways in which the Counterreformation affected women's lives and how gender in turn structured the processes of religious reform and Catholic state-building from the mid-16th to the early 18th century.
