"When I went to parties and things like that, and I mentioned that I was studying religion, people would ask me these bizarre questions about religion, which made me start thinking that maybe I should get paid to answer them," Joe Laycock says.

Marielle Ramsay's educational experiences are likely to differ significantly from those of the students she hopes to teach. Raised in the San Francisco Bay area and attending private schools (both traditional and alternative) before majoring in religion at Oberlin College, Marielle says that she always knew she wanted to be a teacher. |
