Language courses offered by HDS during the academic year are listed below. (See the Summer Language Program website
regarding summer courses.) Students are not limited to these languages and are encouraged to consider other language courses
offered outside of HDS (i.e., within the Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences) if more directly relevant to their program.
All of the courses listed below may be used to satisfy the MDiv Language Course requirement
(three half courses in a single language). Courses taken outside of HDS may also be used.
Some higher level language courses may simultaneously be used to satisfy a Scriptural Interpretation (SI) requirement.
MTS students are limited to four basic language courses. A fifth and sixth may be taken if in an intermediate scriptural language.
Basic language courses are marked accordingly.
