Interpretations of Modernity: Seminar

Description
An analysis of diverse theological and philosophical interpretations of modernity and the modern West within three discussions: the debate about the Enlightenment and modernity at the beginning of the nineteenth century; the discussion within modernism at the beginning of the twentieth century; and the contemporary debate about modernity and postmodernism. Selected authors: Kant, Hegel, Mathews, Troeltsch, Weber, Lowith, Foucault, Blumenberg, Lyotard, Said, and Habermas.
