Buddhist-Christian Encounters

Description

This course will focus on Buddhist-Christian encounters in two contexts: Thailand and the United "States." Readings in the first context will focus on Protestant Christian and Buddhist sources both historical and modern. Readings in the second context will focus on constructions of Buddhist-Christian dialogue within the context of the diverse modalities of Buddhism in America.
