Comparative Religion: History, Challenges, Potential: Seminar

Description

This seminar will offer an encounter with the comparative study of religion as a method, including contemporary discussions of its problems, value, and potential. Starting with a brief historical survey of important comparative approaches, we will read current theoretical works as well as representative works of application. The individual research project will feature the creation of a comparative course syllabus and accompanying rationale. Enrollmen limited to 15 by application at the first meeting.
