Studying Buddhism Across Time and Place

Description
A critical introduction to key ideas, values, people and institutions in Buddhist tradition. It will offer a chance to explore Buddhisms distinctive doctrines about human experience, to appreciate the richness of its disciplinary and meditative practices in varying historical contexts, and to read its best literary gems. It will seek to understand Buddhisms special modes of adaptation as it spread across Asia, and its new profile in the modern world. For FAS, register in "Culture and Belief" 25.
