We will read memoirs by post-colonial writers and theorists, among them V.S. Naipaul, Edward Said, Sara Suleri and Karen Armstrong, exploring a variety of issues, among them notions of self, the construction and role of gender, issues of the personal, political, theoretical, the religious and secular, etc.
