Problems of Justice in Koranic Exegesis and Muslim Theology

Description

The course is focused on the reading and translation of Arabic texts on Islamic scripture. It treats, in particular, conceptions of God's justice as developed in Qur'anic exegesis (\tafsir/) and in the debates between Muslim theologians and philosophers. The last sessions will be dedicated to nineteenth- and twenty-century authors on this matter.
