Fall Semester 2009
AUGUST 28, FRIDAY
- New Student Orientation begins.
AUGUST 31, MONDAY
- New Student Registration: 10
am to 1 pm,
Braun Room, Andover Hall.
SEPTEMBER 1, TUESDAY
- Returning Student Registration: Between 9:30 and 11:45
am and 1:30 and 4
pm in Divinity Hall.
Students must register in person. There is a $50 fee for late registration.
- Convocation, 5 pm, Lowell
Lecture Hall. Reception follows on Andover Lawn.
- Incomplete work from spring semester 2009 is due in the Registrar's
Office.
SEPTEMBER 2, WEDNESDAY
- Fall term begins. First meeting of classes. On Wednesday,
September 2, classes will follow a Monday schedule.
SEPTEMBER 4, FRIDAY
Language Qualifying Examinations in French (1-2
pm), German (2:15-3:15 pm),
and Spanish, Christian Latin, Biblical Hebrew, and New
Testament Greek (3:30-4:30 pm).
Students are allowed to bring one
dictionary for each language examination taken. All examinations are one
hour in length. (Students with class during this time should contact the
Registrar's Office.)
SEPTEMBER 7, MONDAY
- Labor Day: University holiday.
SEPTEMBER 10, THURSDAY
- Study cards due. Cards must be signed by student's adviser and turned in
to the Registrar's Office in person. A $40 late fee will be assessed for
study cards handed in on the following day, Friday. Each day thereafter a
late fee of $10 will be assessed. There is a $10 fee for changes made to a
student's course plan after this date.
SEPTEMBER 23, WEDNESDAY
- Drop/Add Deadline: Last day on which students may add a course to
their fall semester schedule, or change from audit to credit or vice versa.
Courses dropped after September 23 and before October 27 (the last day to drop
a class) will remain on the student's transcript with the notation of
"dropped" and will count toward the total number of courses
attempted. A $10 fee will be charged.
- Last day to cross-register for courses within the University or the Boston
Theological Institute. If the other school's cross-registration deadline is
earlier, it must be met.
SEPTEMBER 30, WEDNESDAY
OCTOBER 12, MONDAY
- Columbus Day: University holiday.
OCTOBER 27, TUESDAY
- Grading Option Change and Course Withdraw Deadline. Last day to change a
course from SAT/UNSAT grading option to Letter Grade or vice versa,
or to withdraw from a course. A $10 fee will be charged.
NOVEMBER 11, WEDNESDAY
- Veterans Day: University holiday.
NOVEMBER 12, THURSDAY
- March ThM degree candidates must submit theses to Registrar's Office.
NOVEMBER 26, THURSDAY - NOVEMBER 29, SUNDAY
DECEMBER 3, THURSDAY
- Last day of fall classes.
- Last day to apply for March graduation.
DECEMBER 4, FRIDAY - DECEMBER 11, FRIDAY
DECEMBER 12, SATURDAY - DECEMBER 21, MONDAY
- Fall semester final course examinations.
- Last day to file an Incomplete Grade Agreement for a fall semester course.

DECEMBER 22, TUESDAY - JANUARY 24, 2010, SUNDAY
JANUARY 4, MONDAY
- Grades due in the Registrar's Office from HDS instructors for fall
semester courses.
JANUARY 18, MONDAY
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day: University holiday
Spring Semester 2010
JANUARY 25, MONDAY
- Spring semester begins; first meeting of classes. Registration for all
new and returning students Monday and Tuesday.
- Last day to apply for May graduation.
JANUARY 29, FRIDAY

adviser and submitted to the Registrar's Office. A $40 late fee will be assessed
for registrations received after the due date. Each day thereafter
