Summer Leadership Institute | |

Application RequirementsThe Summer Leadership Institute is designed for faith-based professionals who have demonstrated productivity and leadership in their organizations, places of worship, and communities. Individuals with titles of pastor, minister, chief executive officer, chief financial officer, program director, program coordinator, and board member would be strong candidates. The program has no formal educational requirements, but proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. Each applicant must independently develop an action plan for his or her church, organization, or corporation. An applicant must be nominated by his or her church, organization, or corporation. Nomination indicates that the candidate is considered an outstanding prospect for organizational leadership. All nominating entities must agree to relieve participants of work responsibilities during the program. The two-week session is limited to 50 individuals. The goal is to select people who are significantly engaged in building institutions that improve the faith life and general health of their community. The program seeks to ensure maximum interaction between participants and teaching staff. Application ProcessThe deadline for SLI applications has been extended to Monday, April 7, 2008. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit their application by email or fax. Applications for the 2008 Summer Leadership Institute are due by March 19, 2008. After the deadline, we will continue to review applications on a space-available basis. Each applicant must submit both the completed four-page application and a letter of nomination from his or her church, organization, or development corporation.

FeesThe $4,000 program fee includes tuition, instructional materials, and room and board. Payment is due by May 30, 2008. Cancellation after this date is subject to a fee. A limited amount of financial aid is available. Financial need is not a factor in the criteria for admissions. Candidates are expected to ask for financial assistance from their sponsoring entities. If a sponsoring group has questions about the program or the qualifications of a possible candidate, it should contact the SLI director.
