In times of joy, sorrow, wonder, or questioning, in the search for hope, perspective, mercy, or
friendship, in the journey toward God, the Holy, Justice, Peace ... wherever you are coming from, wherever you are
going, you are welcome!
Greetings from the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life at Harvard Divinity
School!
We hope these pages will help guide you to the programs and services we
sponsor and help connect you with the many additional religious and spiritual resources
in and beyond the Divinity School.
HDS seeks to encourage a climate of genuine religious pluralism, in which the spiritual diversity and differences among us are respectfully and fruitfully engaged, not merely tolerated. People of all religious traditions, as well as those who do not identify with any religious tradition, are welcome to participate in all of
our programs and to utilize our services.
The director of religious and spiritual life, Kerry
Maloney, oversees a variety of opportunities for the support and nurture of
the spiritual and intellectual lives of students, staff, and faculty. She is available to all in the
HDS community for personal counsel, referral, and
spiritual direction and
care, and she plans and supports
opportunities within the School for the development of soul and mind and assists people in identifying additional spiritual
resources they might find helpful.
In addition to the director of religious and spiritual life, the Divinity
School also employs 11 denominational
counselors who can provide support and guidance to students of
particular religious backgrounds. Other resources include:
