## How I've Changed

My journey at HDS has been nothing short of transformative. My beginning semester was a bit rough, having been out of school for decades, but after making it through "Theories and Methods" I realized I could survive almost anything. The entire journey has been a thrilling, daunting ascent, where my unconscious biases and shadows have been illuminated like never before and each day allowed opportunities to challenge my thoughts, motives, and perspectives. The camaraderie of students, the wisdom of the faculty, the warmth of friends, and the energy of new associates have all contributed to an environment that was both supportive and inspiring and has marked my soul for a lifetime.

## Memorable Moment

My most memorable moment at HDS was meeting with Interim Dean David Holland in the dean’s office. Walking in I was a bit dumbfounded, pondering the cosmic alignment that led to such an unlikely scenario.

## Message of Thanks

I am deeply grateful to the professors who have profoundly shaped my academic journey – Kimberley Patton, David Holland, Diane Rosenfeld, Matthew Dillon, Gina Zurlo, and numerous others. They have enabled me to dive deeply into the intersection of religion and sexual violence against women and girls. Also, the opportunities afforded to meet Pope Francis and to speak at the United Nations by Jennifer Wortham were beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Also, the books and resources available through the library have filled me to my heart's content – how I love Harvard’s libraries! Moreover, I express my sincerest thanks to my God, for granting me the extraordinary privilege and opportunity to pursue my studies at Harvard Divinity School. I consider it an incredible blessing.

## What I Hope to Be Remembered By

As a survivor of sexual abuse, I bear the marks of the past. These scars, though deeply etched, have threads that weave into the shared experiences of many other women who have weathered similar storms. Despite the vulnerability inherent in disclosing such wounds, my transparency has catalyzed dialogue and opened up space for this important issue within the study of religion, and through the courage to confront the shadows of collective pain, I have witnessed the emergence of newfound solidarity and strength.

## Future Plans

I am off to my favorite place in the world, Scotland, to pursue a PhD in Ethics and Practical Theology at The University of Edinburgh Divinity School! My future career goals are to engage in platforms to counter sexual violence against women and girls within a religious context and to digitize and preserve *all* the Catholic Italian Parish Records in Italy, preserving the history of the Italian people and their legacy, making the records freely accessible to all.
