## **Describe the work you do today:**

I'm a self-employed consultant and do a mix of things: keynote speaking, writing books (I've published 4), and running mastermind groups and online courses. I also teach part-time for Columbia Business School.

## **How has your HDS degree influenced your career journey**

Studying at HDS was a wonderful opportunity to look at how people make meaning in their lives through religion and/or other value systems. In contemporary society, the work world is often a major part of our self-identity, and my work today dives into the question of how we arrive at our sense of purpose, and how we can attract more of the right professional opportunities so we can make an impact in the world.

## **What career advice would you offer to current HDS students?**

Whether or not you're seeking a career directly in the religious space, it's important to study and understand entrepreneurship. Religion needs a lot of marketing, too! And whatever your field, you're better prepared for the future - and can make yourself valuable and indispensable - if you're able to attract attention and support for what you're doing. The world of "business" isn't opposed to religion or non-profit/charity work; it's an essential form of study so you can operationalize whatever goals or visions you have.
