## Describe the work you do today:

I am a spiritual director, working with clients who are interested in deepening their relationship to the sacred, however they define it. I am also an artist and writer. My artwork has been shown internationally and nationally, and my writing has appeared in HuffPo, the New York Daily News, the Miami Herald, among other publications. After many years in the social justice space, I've been working to de-silo my work, and instead forge a career and life in which creativity, spirituality, and social justice are woven together.

## How has your HDS degree experience influenced your career journey?

I took the MTS track because, at that time, I was more curious about religion from an academic perspective. What I didn't anticipate was that curiosity would lead me to a lifelong meditation/Buddhist practice and to work that is deeply centered around service. In the past two years, I received a certificate in spiritual direction as well as a certificate in psychedelic-assisted therapy, and I am now building a practice that supports people in discovering their connection to the divine and to their own creativity. I also write a weekly Substack newsletter called "Three Threads" that uses art as an invitation to pause and deepen into ourselves, our spirituality, and our creativity. My HDS degree has been at the core of this evolution.

## What career advice would you offer to current HDS students?

Explore as much of what Harvard has to offer; audit classes, participate in your community, let your curiosity lead you, even (or maybe especially) if it takes you somewhere unexpected. The relationships you build now will continue to enrich your life in the years to come. I would also advise incoming students to consider the MDiv track, unless they are certain they want an academic career. I wish I had chosen that track, as it would have given me the academic core I wanted and also allowed for more professional flexibility down the line.
