## Describe the work you do today:

I provide spiritual care to undergraduate students and other members of our campus, especially in moments of change or challenge. I’m available as a resource to all students, regardless of whether they affiliate with any spiritual or religious traditions. I am also responsible for Catholic life on campus, which involves organizing Masses, facilitating service-immersion experiences, leading retreats and pilgrimages, mentoring student leaders, and offering regular opportunities for prayer, reflection, and community-building. I am a spiritual director, so I meet with students 1:1 and in small groups.

## How has your HDS degree experience influenced your career journey?

Classmates, professors, and members of the HDS staff have all shaped my professional journey. I benefited from remarkable mentors and learning opportunities as a student, and I’ve received guidance and support from these same people since graduation, too. I wish that I could acknowledge each of them by name, but there are too many. Since HDS is a nonsectarian institution, I learned with and from people who possessed worldviews, values, and beliefs unlike my own. At the same time, HDS provided me with a vibrant and supportive Catholic community where I was able to engage with people who shared my faith tradition. This combination of experiences has shaped how I conduct myself as a Catholic who is a chaplain in a multi-religious setting.

## What career advice would you offer to current HDS students?

Divinity school is a formation experience, not simply an academic or pre-professional experience. Make time to try to get to know your classmates, colleagues, professors, and HDS staff and administrators. Go to Community Tea & Noon Services. Try field education. Take a class at one of Harvard's other schools or the Boston Theological Interreligious Consortium. Join a student group or start your own. Make time to pray and slow down. HDS is a place where you will have the opportunity to learn more about the world, other people, and yourself. Feel free to reach out to HDS alumni if you are looking for guidance or want to connect.
