## Profile

Tara Deonauth, MDiv ’21, is a board-certified chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains whose work centers on providing interfaith spiritual care to vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, patients with psychiatric illnesses, and those at the end of life. During her tenure as Spiritual Care Manager at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, she co-developed Harvard’s first clinical psychedelic chaplaincy training program in collaboration with the hospital’s ketamine clinic. She co-authored the article "Ketamine Integration Chaplaincy: A Novel Spiritual Care Approach to Psychedelic Integration" published in *Anthropology of Consciousness* and completed a certification in psychedelic therapies and research with the California Institute of Integral Studies.

In her teaching, Tara endeavors to cultivate spiritual care practitioners who are self-reflective, relationally attuned, and grounded in rigorous academic, clinical, and spiritual inquiry to offer care in complex, interdisciplinary environments. Her courses encourage students to translate theory into practice with critical curiosity and ministerial sensitivity.

In fall 2026, Tara is teaching HDS 2930: Spiritual Care in Psychedelic Settings. She has also taught in Harvard Medical School's Program in Medical Education.
