Graduate Profile: Rosemary Dodd, MDiv '23

Favorite Class or Professor 

"Unitarian and Universalist History" and "Liberal and Liberation Theologies in Dialogue" with Dr. Dan McKanan truly taught me so much about my own faith tradition and the broader world and brought me grounding and challenge. Dr. Giovanna Parmigiani allowed me to explore my pagan roots and supported my chaplaincy skillset. Dr. Anne Braude's "Spiritual Paths to Abstract Art" and Chris Hossfeld's "Leading Music in Ritual" both brought joy and art into the everyday academic world! 

Message of Thanks  

I owe an outpouring of love to my HUUMS (Harvard Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Students) community, my co-conspirators in this program. You have nurtured me in my faith and in my doubt. I have such gratitude for my advisor, Dr. Dan McKanan, who has provided indispensable advice, support, and encouragement. To Phoebe Eckart-Lee, I am truly grateful for our friendship! It has been a delight to get to do this program alongside you. 

What I Hope to Be Remembered By 

Phoebe Eckart-Lee, Martha Durkee-Neuman, and I co-wrote our MDiv thesis, which I hope inspires more collaborative and joyful shared ministry projects at HDS. 

Future Plans 

This summer, you'll find me reading novels at the HDS library circulation desk, which has been a wonderful place to work. Starting in August 2023, I'll be serving as the ministerial intern at the Unitarian Universalist Society of Sacramento!
