Graduate Profile: Dan Wells, MDiv '23

Favorite Class or Professor 

I have been incredibly inspired by the various classes that have allowed me to explore what a spiritual relationship with the world beyond the human might look like. Dan McKanan, Terry Tempest Williams, and Adam Dyer have stood out as faculty guides in this process. 

Message of Thanks  

I'd love to thank all members of the HDS eco-spiritual community, students, faculty and staff. We built something really, really special together over the past few years, and my greatest hope is that all of us who have time left at HDS carry it on. I'll never forget the love that travels among Plant Consciousness, Fire Salons, the Eco-Theology Fellowship and the rest. I'd also like to thank all those involved with Harvard and the Legacy of Slavery, and the critical examination of what having colonial roots means. 

What I Hope to Be Remembered By 

Helping so many others, both human and non-human, bring connection from the academic world to the world beyond the human. I never met the Divinity Oak, but I wonder if it was a spirit from that wonderful tree that brought us all together over the next few years after its passing.
