Graduate Profile: Nathan Rubright, MDiv '23
How I've Changed
I am more engaged than ever with the ways that community, conversation, and pastoral care can shape people's lives. I started at HDS thinking I would focus on theology and philosophy. After having completed my MDiv, I am convinced more than ever that it is the human side of ministry that is most important.
Favorite Class or Professor
I have now taken three classes from Prof. Regina Walton. I began my HDS journey with her "Spiritual Formation in Community" class and I am convinced she is one of the deepest thinkers about how church structure can impact people's lives. I am forever grateful for her guidance and insight into what church can be.
What I Hope to Be Remembered By
I hope to be remembered for how I have a strong belief in the church to change lives while being open with my struggles with its current structure and priorities.
Future Plans
I will remain in Boston at my current position of Campus Minister at Sojourn Collegiate Ministry. I also plan to begin exploring starting a church in the area founded on simplicity and social justice.
