How I've Changed

I have grown in ways I would have never imagined during my time at Harvard Divinity School. From finding my voice and intellectual passion, to being surrounded by some of the most wonderful people I have ever met, my time at HDS has been profoundly rich both in my personal and academic life.

Favorite Class or Professor

Some of my favorite classes were “Virginia Woolf and Religion” and “Teresa of Avila” taught by Stephanie Paulsell as well as “Faith, Hope, and Resistance in Catholic Theology and Spirituality” taught by Raúl Zegarra. These courses were instrumental in my growth as both a scholar and practitioner.

Message of Thanks

There have been so many people who have walked alongside me on this journey, lifting me up, and cheering me on. I want to begin by thanking the HDS staff. I was lucky enough to work in the Office of Student Life for more than two years. I have made bonds with staff I will cherish forever. Katie, Tim, Lauren, Kerry, Chris, Jamie, and Drema, thank you for holding our school together and all you have done for me and so many others.

Thank you to the HDS faculty, especially Stephanie Paulsell, who encouraged me to write the things I needed in the world, even if they didn't exist yet. I am deeply grateful for your mentorship and encouragement.

I would also like to thank my friends, who I am still in denial about moving away from. Thank you for your care, laughter, silliness, kindness, and most of all, thank you for always seeing me for all that I am. I love all of you so very much.

Finally, I want to thank my family, whose unconditional love, support, and encouragement sustains me along my academic journey.

Future Plans

In the fall, I will begin my PhD program in Practical Theology at Emory University where I will continue to research the clerical abuse crisis in the Catholic church in conjunction with Eucharistic sacramentality.
