Graduate Profile: Shabbos Israel X Kestenbaum, MTS '24

Favorite Class or Professor 

Professors Jon Levenson, Noah Feldman, Aleksandra Kremer, Shaul Magid, Carleigh Beriont, and Rabbi David Wolpe were the ones who made Harvard such an intellectually enriching experience. It was an immense privilege to learn from them, and a time in my life I will cherish forever.  

Message of Thanks  

I would like to thank Margaret Okada-Scheck for accepting me to Harvard. Nothing else would be possible without her. I’d like to thank my parents: Daniel and Hadassah Kestenbaum. They moved to this country to chase the American dream, raised two generations of proud Jews, and sacrificed significantly for their children. Mom and dad: your son is now a Harvard graduate. 

What I Hope to Be Remembered By 

I hope to be remembered as someone who stood up for their values and fought for the Jewish people in all the ways I could, for as long I could, wherever I could.  

Future Plans 

I hope to pursue a career in public policy.
