As the HDS class of 2026 approaches Commencement Week, we spoke with several graduating students about their journeys to HDS, the moments that stand out during their time at the School, and where they're headed next. From pursuing further academic research at Harvard, entering hospital chaplaincy, leading in the business world, or helping bring people together across difference, HDS graduates are poised to make an impact as faith leaders, scholars, and professionals across a range of fields.

Sarah Adegbite, MTS '26

At Harvard Divinity School, Sarah Adegbite explored the religious histories of slavery and the power of ritual—and will continue that work at Harvard as a PhD student.

"To continue this work in the same place, with the same community, feels really important."

Manisha Agarwal, MRPL '26

At HDS, Manisha Agarwal explored the connections between spirituality and business, developing a framework to help business leaders make ethically informed decisions.

"I looked at the MRPL program and discovered that this would give me a platform to bring together religion and business. Honestly, it has exceeded my expectations."

For graduating MTS student Ellie Ashby, the study of religion is inseparable from storytelling—tracing how faith is practiced, embodied, and understood in everyday life.

"Stories are the way that we connect. It’s this baseline understanding that we have with one another."

Ric Keller, MRPL '26

Former Republican U.S. Congressman Ric Keller, MRPL ’26, explored difference both in and out of the classroom at HDS, gathering insights he’ll use to help leaders disagree better without losing trust.

"It hit me that we’re all on the same team, rowing the boat in the same direction; that we’re all human and we have so much more in common than we realize.”

Sabbi Lall, MDiv '26

Through study of Buddhist and Hindu texts, mentorships with faculty, and affirming ministry experiences, Sabbi Lall’s call to chaplaincy was answered at Harvard Divinity School.

Ke'Von Singleton, MDiv '26

After three years of formational academic work and ministry experience at HDS, Ke’Von Singleton is poised to lead and serve in a variety of sectors—religious, academic, corporate, and beyond.

"HDS has allowed me to mix and match what I'm learning in class with what I'm actually experiencing in ministry. This has made me a better minister and a better student."
