Memorable Moment

All of my time with HUUMS has been blessedly memorable. I will look back with particular joy and gratitude on my final HUUMS gathering and the fulfillment of my long-held dream of wearing lit candles on my head.

Favorite Class or Professor

I thoroughly enjoyed many of my courses, but one that stands out is "Administration and Leadership" with Dr. Brandon Crowley. I was really not looking forward to taking a nonprofit leadership/administration course, but the way Dr. Crowley presented the material and engaged with us in our own contexts helped deepen my call to ministry and affirmed in my abilities. And my colleagues in that course were all passionate, motivated people with whom it was an honor to learn from and alongside.

Message of Thanks

I want to thank my parents, who are the primary reason I am the way that I am. Huge thank you to the faculty and staff who have made my time at HDS so impactful, including but not limited to Dan McKanan, Aisha Ansano, Chris Hossfeld, Kerry Maloney, Lauren Jung, Katie Caponera, and Mary Kiesling. And I don’t have the words to express my gratitude to Emmeline and Frances for their friendship and support, and inspiring me to be more compassionate to myself and others.

Future Plans

In the fall I will relocate to North Carolina to begin my year as intern minister at the Community Church of Chapel Hill, Unitarian Universalist. This is the next step towards my goal of Unitarian Universalist ordination.
