Program Structure

The daily schedule will follow a pattern of complementary sessions that include lectures, guided meditations, and small group processing. The overarching sensibility will be that of a retreat for caregivers. We will emphasize meditation, restoration, and community building, yet be inclusive of the intellectual rigor experienced in a seminar. Lectures will cover doctrinal, philosophical, and narrative understandings of compassion. Guided meditations will share techniques of preparing for, developing, and sharing compassion. Small group processing will be an opportunity to reflect on what has been learned in relationship to one’s particular practice, professional identity, and work environment.
